Qualifications and Experience Required
Ph.D., with First Class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) in the preceding degree, and a good academic record throughout
A minimum of three years teaching/research/professional experience, excluding the experience gained while pursuing the Ph.D. In exceptional cases, candidates with less than requisite experience will also be considered.
Candidates should preferably be below 35 years of age.
Scale of pay: Level 12 with a basic pay of Rs. 1,01,500/-. After the completion of three years of service in Level 12, pay will be fixed in Level 13A1 with a basic pay of Rs. 1,31,400/-
Total minimum emoluments (including Dearness and Transport Allowance): Rs. 1,57,420 per month with house rent allowance, and Rs. 1,33,060 per month if staying on the campus.

The Centre for BioSystems Science and Engineering (BSSE) at the Indian Institute of Science offers a range of sophisticated instruments for mechanical characterization and imaging studies on biological cells. Users from many departments in IISc and from external institutions use these instruments. BSSE now seeks to recruit a Facility Manager, who will have the overall responsibility for the operation of the centre and whose duties will include:
Essential qualifications: A doctoral degree in science or engineering OR master’s in science/engineering with at least 4 years of experience OR a bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 8 years of relevant experience, hands-on familiarity with atomic force microscopes, confocal microscopy, and particle size analysis.
Desirable Qualifications: The candidate should have substantive demonstrated expertise in operating atomic force microscope for characterizing biological cells and tissues, fixed or live; using advanced microscopes including confocal microscopy; image processing related to microscopy; and characterizing particles used in bioengineering research. The candidate should also be familiar with SAP software with at least one year experience in the industry.
Remuneration and Benefits: A consolidated salary in the range of INR 50,000 to 90,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) invites applications for the position of Alumni Relations Officer (ARO).

The ARO is expected to perform the following duties:
(I) Assist in developing a vibrant alumni-IISc ecosystem.
(II) Develop and maintain systems, databases, web portal and social media account to connect with alumni.
(III) Network with alumni in Bangalore and other cities to build a vibrant system focused on assisting IISc with development plans.
(IV) Organize alumni get-togethers, follow-up with alumni to develop partnerships with IISc.

There is an opening for Project Assistant position in the Combustion Research and Advanced Diagnostics Laboratory at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, IISc. The specific area of research includes design, build and test a lab-scale single element rocket injector.
The position requires sound knowledge in design, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer analysis. Experience in handling thermo-fluidic experiments, and laser-based diagnostics will be preferred. The selected candidate will be expected to work with high pressure combustion test systems.
